Practitioners listed in the Microsoft Excel file below are in order of highest trained (supervisor) and most experienced to least experienced (Weekend 1).
There are no specific claims made about any practitioner and those perusing the list for a therapist should attend to local directories to determine
if the they fall within the client group managed by the practitioner. |
| EMDR INSTITUE CASE CONSULTANT These are EMDR practitioners who have actively used EMDR in their practice and in many cases have completed the highest level of training available in Australia - the Master Class. They have also undertaken additional training to attain the level of supervisor. Supervisors are committed to attend a Weekend 1 (W1) and a Weekend 2 (W2) training or equivalent every two years to ensure that they are aware of the latest developments in EMDR . Their skill level has been determined suitable to supervise those therapists who have completed W1 and W2 trainings. They are viewed as the group most able in terms of EMDR. |

MASTER CLASS This is the highest level of training in Australia. Those who complete this training usually have a high level of proficiency in EMDR and many go on to be supervisors. |

WEEKEND 2 (W2) Those who complete this level of training have completed a total of 40 hours of training and as of January 2007 an additional 10 hours of supervision/case consultation. The completion of a W2 training constitutes the completion of a basic EMDR training. |

WEEKEND 1 (W1) This training constitutes the first half of a basic training and is of 20 hours of duration over three days. It has a supervision/case consultation component of 5 hours (post January 2007) which is mandatory prior to undertaking W2. Therapists completing W1 are encouraged to have a minimum of 20 -30 hours of EMDR practice before embarking on the completion of their basic training (W2) Those with only the W1 are the least trained EMDR practitioners. |
