Advanced EMDR Workshop on Complex Trauma, Dissociation and Loss:
Videos of EMDR Therapy and Discussion of Choice Points
This workshop will focus on EMDR treatment of complex trauma/trauma generated dissociation and traumatic grief, with an emphasis on showing videos of sessions. Books and articles are important to understand the theory and principles of treatment. However how to deal with both practical and complex therapeutic issues is best taught by video demonstrations. This workshop will focus on teaching what cannot be taught by lecture, showing the moment by moment EMDR therapy choice points and strategies to deal with complicated clinical issues. Videos, many from Roger’s work in Ukraine, will focus on the trauma of war; complex trauma and dissociative symptoms; and traumatic and complicated grief.
The first day will focus on trauma, with attention to the trauma of war. The second day will focus on traumatic grief. A current trauma (e.g. in invasion of Ukraine, death of a loved one) can trigger past unresolved traumas, including early childhood events, which complicates response to trauma and loss. Videos will illustrate the treatment of both recent trauma, and past traumas that complicate adaptation.
Please be aware that this is a trauma training and some of the videos will be intense, involving issues of war, sexual abuse, and traumatic loss.
This training is available to those who have completed EMDR Basic Training with an EMDRAA approved trainer.
Daily schedule: Day 1-2: 8.30am – 5pm

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Should you wish to cancel your registration an administration charge of AUD $110 (Incl. GST) will be made for cancellations received in writing up to 30 days prior to the training.
Refunds cannot be offered to cancellations received within 30 days of the training.
In the event that Aspire Psychology cancels a training then a full refund will be made available. Please be aware when booking travel and accommodation, that if the training does not proceed, Aspire Psychology will not liable for any costs you have incurred.
