Fiona Cuskelly is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and a registered Medicare Provider with over 20 years of experience in mental health. She specialises in working with both adults and young people.
As a trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist and an Accredited EMDRAA Consultant, Fiona integrates trauma-informed, relational and attachment-focused frameworks to treat complex trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and strengthen communication & enhance relationships.
With a background in both Public and Private mental health settings in Victoria and Queensland, Fiona has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Intake & Community Teams, Juvenile Justice – Adolescent Forensic Mental Health, Adult In-patient Units and Private Practice. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work, a Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology), and a Post Graduate Certificate in Developmental Psychiatry, focusing on child and adolescent assessment. Fiona is also a Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainer.
Fiona is trained in a range of therapeutic approaches including EMDR, Structural Dissociation, Schema Therapy, Circle of Security (COS-P & COS-C), and Mindfulness, She is passionate about empowering her clients, ensuring they feel heard and understood. Fiona has extremely enjoyed training in EMDR and found it the most transformational therapy for her clients. This is the main reason she continues to increase her knowledge and training and was excited to become a Consultant and EMDR Institute facilitator – to facilitate trainings & group consultations and supervise therapists who are embarking on their EMDR training experience.
