Bozica Stumfol Master’s in Psychology (Croatia), B.A.HonsPsych, Grad.Certif Comm.M.H.&Child Protection, MAPS (Australia)

Senior Psychologist working in the area of mental health with Queensland Health for over 15 years. Ms Stumfol has been practising in various mental health settings including multicultural mental health, older adults team and inpatient unit for people who are diagnosed with a chronic and severe mental illness. Prior to Queensland Health, Ms Stumfol worked as a psychologist with the Queensland Corrective Services and drug rehabilitation centre.

Ms Stumfol obtained her EMDRA accreditation in 2016 and became an EMDR Consultant and Institute Facilitator in 2019. She was trained by Mr Sigmund Burzynski and Dr Roger Solomon and supervised by Dr Karen Klockner and Mr Sigmund Burzynski. She successfully applies the EMDR therapy to all of her patients. She also runs a small private practice accepting referrals for EMDR therapy only. Further, she coordinates a large face to face EMDR peer supervision group in Brisbane North.

Ms Stumfol has authored seven articles and book chapters on topics of war trauma, refugee trauma, student displacement and sexual violence and was awarded the Charter of Humanity in 1998 for providing psychological first aid to civilians and soldiers during and post-war conditions in Croatia. In Australia, she expands her clinical trauma work by focusing on the effects of trauma experienced by young refugees, adversities caused by racism and various multicultural mental health topics.
