Dr Janette McMahon

Dr Janette McMahon completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2009. Prior to this, she worked across community and hospital settings before establishing her private practice in 2008. Dr McMahon has extensive experience treating Anxiety Disorders, Attachment Loss and Trauma, Acute Stress Disorder, Grief and Loss, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Dissociative Disorders. She has also worked extensively and has a passion for working with serving members and veterans of the Australian Defence Force and First Responders.
Through her work with clients experiencing trauma and PTSD, including active ADF personnel and veterans, Dr McMahon was introduced to EMDR Therapy following her training with the EMDR Institute. She quickly incorporated EMDR into her clinical practice and was impressed by the significant outcomes achieved by her clients. Motivated by these results, she pursued advanced training in EMDR Therapy and became an EMDR Consultant, Facilitator, and Trainer for the EMDR Institute in Australia.
In addition, Dr McMahon collaborates with Dr Roger Solomon in delivering EMDR Master Classes throughout Australia and Asia, serving as both organiser and trainer.
Dr McMahon is a registered Clinical Psychologist with Medicare, the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and the Psychology Board of Australia. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, and a registered Clinical Supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia.
