Linda has been a counsellor and psychotherapist for 21 years. She has been in private practice for the past 11 years; previously she worked as a Senior Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor at a community agency and also at the National University of Singapore Counselling and Psychological Services.
Before training to become a counsellor, Linda worked for a total of about 10 years in Human Resource and also teaching Communication at a Polytechnic institution. Linda has a Master of Social Science (Counselling) and a BA majoring in Psychology and Communication. She is a Certified EMDR practitioner, Consultant and an EMDR Institute Facilitator since 2010. She also Faculty status in Choice Theory/Reality Therapy, with William Glasser International and Singapore.
Linda’s area of focus is trauma-informed psychotherapy, in addition to being trained and qualified in the more mainstream Cognitive-Behavioural approaches. She is primarily an EMDR therapist, seeing individual, complex clients who present with anxiety, depression, stress, relational issues and unprocessed traumas. As an EMDR Institute Facilitator, she has had the privilege of providing Facilitation during EMDR Weekend 1 and 2 trainings conducted by Senior Trainer, Sigmund Burzynski, in Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan. She also provides supervision to EMDR Weekend 1 and 2 trainees, as well as ongoing EMDR Consultation to post-Basic trained EMDR therapists.
Linda has been actively involved in 2 local psychological Associations, EMDR Singapore and William Glasser Institute (Singapore), and is currently still playing active roles though no longer President of these chapters.
She feels privileged to have had the opportunity to work with many clients as well as counseling trainees/supervisees in the past 21 years, each unique interaction adding depth and flavour to her overall knowledge and experience in positive ways!
Linda is married to a musician and they have a teenager son as well as a teenager female Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
