Nicole Fraine Master of Clinical Psychology, Diploma of Education

Nicole Fraine is a clinical psychologist, in a private psychology practice on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

Nicole has worked in private practice for 10 years, following 15 years as a guidance counsellor in catholic primary schools. During her time in schools, Nicole gained experience in working with children and in the area of educational psychology including assessment of memory and learning as well as experience in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Nicole also has a background of working in multicultural school settings with large refugee populations and co-published an article in 2009 for the Australian Psychologist entitled: Reducing bias in psychometric assessment of culturally and linguistically diverse students from refugee backgrounds in Australian schools: A process approach.

Nicole has utilised EMDR therapy extensively since 2013 when she completed her EMDR Institute Basic Training with trainer, Sigmund Burzynski. Since this time, Nicole has completed numerous advanced trainings with senior EMDR therapy trainers. Nicole is a passionate lifelong learner and is particularly passionate about the results she sees in her clients who do EMDR therapy.

Nicole specialises in the treatment of PTSD and complex trauma. She works routinely with phobias, addiction, and sleep disorders. She works predominantly with adults and adolescents but also with children referred for trauma, phobias, anxiety, and depression related issues.

While Nicole considers herself firstly and foremost an EMDR therapist, she has also undertaken training in hypnosis with Dr Michael Yapko and is a level 1 practitioner of Mindfulness with the Australian Institute of Applied Mindfulness. Nicole has also completed a 10 day Vipassana silent retreat. As an EMDR therapy practitioner, Nicole draws on these modalities for clients who require additional stabilisation and emotional regulation tools.

Nicole is an accredited supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia.
